Seven Things I Wish I Knew BEFORE Serving A Mission

 1. Let Jesus Christ be the center of every teaching opportunity.  Remember you are teaching people, not lessons.

2.  Write EVERYTHING in your journal EVERYDAY of your mission.  You'll thank me in 30 years . . .

3.  Never argue with people about doctrine or try to prove them wrong.  "Winning" an argument is not your purpose and will not convert them.

4.  See people "TWICE IN WHITE".  Along with your purpose, have the vision to see people enter the waters of baptism and the temple.

5.  The gift of tongues is real.  No matter how hard the language is, the Lord will help you along the way.  Start as soon as you get your call!

6.  It's okay to think about the future.  Take time during your mission to ponder about your post-mission goals and plans.

7.  The Lord keeps unprepared missionaries from prepared people.  the more knowledge and testimony you have about Jesus Christ, the more success you have in helping other come unto him.
